Reading in Church

The Bible gives us the best understanding of the life of Jesus and explains why he was sent by God to come and live among us.
The Old and New Testament Scriptures were always intended to be read out loud to ensure all have the opportunity to hear the Word of God.

At Holy Trinity Church we encourage as many people as possible to read passages from the Bible during our services and everyone is welcome to join our team of readers.

To be sure the Scriptures are read in a way that everyone in Church can hear, including the effective use of microphones, we ask those who would like to join our team of readers to demonstrate they have suffiicient ability to read out loud.
We will also offer support to everyone to grow in confidence in this important ministry.

Feel free to speak with any of our readers, a Lay Reader or the vicar after a service about how to become a reader.
