Gardening Club and Maintenance

 Gardening Club

Set up in 2021, the club has completely restored the church gardens.
We meet on Tuesday afternoons from Spring to Autumn and have around 8 regular members.
We have our own shed and tools are provided but not gloves.
The club runs on a drop on basis so members just come when you can.
It is a joy to work in this special, peaceful place.

Holy Trinity is home to the Trinity Playgroup meeting in our hall every weekday in school term time.
The children are able to play in the garden every day thanks to the work of our gardening team.
Having access to this safe space also enables the playgroup to meet the outdoor play requirements set by government.

Part of the gardent is set aside for the ashes of those who have died may have a final resting place.
Our Garden of Remembrance is greatly valued by relatives and friends who come to pay their respects to departed loved ones.

Although we have a minimal budget it has been possible to make more improvements each year.

In 2024 we entered the RHS “It’s Your Neighbourhood” competition and were awarded 1 point off outstanding.

We are always delighted to welcome new members.
Just pop along on a Tuesday, usually between 3.30pm and 5pm or email jane.osullivan@horshamholytrinity.org.uk or answerphone 01403 288465 for further details.

Maintenance

Like every building churches are affected by the wear and tear of usage and the impact of the elements.
The old adage 'a stitch in time saves time' is applicable to our church building but not only does attending to minor repairs save time is also saves money and reduces larger future expenditure.
Good stewardship is a key Gospel message.
From time to time we ask for volunteers with basic DIY skills to assist us undertake minor maintenance work.
Larger task and those requiring particular skills are contracted out to professional contractors.
